Warid Has NOT Decreased Its Charges

Hey Guys! Just Listen! Warid has NOT NOT NOT decreased its call charges, SMS charges or any other service charges. Most of you are confused about this thing. As I mentioned in my previous post “Warid has Got a Unique Automatic Balance Alert Feature” about Warid Balance Alerts that automatically appears after the end of call and SMS/MMS etc. This alert is now confusing you. The Balance Alert when you send a SMS from Warid to Warid has some text like “Last call cost 0.61 PKR”. About some months ago when you sent an SMS from Warid to Warid it said “Last call cost 0.66 PKR”. Obviously, you may think that the rates are decreased but that’s not true.

Warid has now changed its tax policies a bit. Previously it didn’t cut any tax at the time of balance load and was cutting all 31 percent tax when you consume your balance. But now like all other companies, it cut 10 percent advance income tax and 21 percent with the consumption of balance. So, the call charges are the same however now for a call you pay a part of tax at loading your balance and other part on the time of calling. From September 27, 2008, Warid and all other companies have imposed 5 percent additional service charges which will be cut at the time of balance load. For more information about additional service charges you may check “Warid Also Imposed 5 Percent Additional Service Charges Following Telenor, Ufone and Mobilink”.

Save yourself from Balance Stealers

Almost all the telecommunication companies are now fed up of scammers making people fool by stealing their balances. The scammer reaches its prey by sending them SMS to send a message or string on a number and win cash or prizes. The person follows what he has been instructed by the sender and as a result loses his money. You might be thinking do people have too much time to make others fool for just fun but its not only fun. Once the person sends that message, he actually loses his balance and that balance is transferred to the account of person asking him to send the message.

All mobile operators are concerned about this fact and want to make their subscribers secure. They might think of developing an algorithm which will check all SMS first and then deliver all those which are safe and not spam. But this will give rise to new problems. Firstly, checking every message will increase operator load and will also increase delivery time. Secondly, sometimes those messages which are important for you might not be able to reach because of some bug in algorithm. Lastly, sometimes your friends or relatives might be asking you to send them balance but you will even not receive message from them.

With all these drawbacks, the companies should definitely try to do something against this act of stealing. They certainly have to do more than just placing disclaimers at their official websites.

Ufone says

“Ufone notifies all its valued subscribers against replying to or acting upon any call or

SMS received which claims to double your balance, win bumper prizes, cash rewards, discount vouchers, or any other surprise gifts. Beware of any SMS which contains a string like ‘03332597334u2u50’ or any call that asks you to give the number on the back of a scratch card as this is fraud and will cause you a loss. Remember, if you receive any such SMS or calls call 333 from your Ufone immediately.”
