Telenor Unlimited GPRS/EDGE package for postpaid customers

Posted by Asad 24 August, 2008

After Mobilink, Warid, Ufone and even Zong launched unlimited GPRS and EDGE packages, Telenor has finally decided to launch an unlimited internet usage package named GRPS/EDGE bundle for its postpaid customers. This package will let you browse internet, access your emails, download attachments and stay connected where ever you are (either in Pakistan or across the world). After having reached the largest coverage in Pakistan, Telenor is now offering high speed internet connectivity to its valuable customers through GPRS and EDGE technologies.

However the package says to offer you unlimited internet usage throughout the month but fair usage policy limits data download to a maximum of 2 GB per month. You can use this package either on your cell phone or with your laptop/desktop. Telenor also offers Mobile TV, Pic share and all other GPRS based services free of charge until the download limit of 2 GB per month hasn’t been exceeded by a user.

The package is much more expensive than packages offered by other networks. Warid offers the same package at Rs.500 (exclusive of tax) per month and Mobilink for Rs.600 (exclusive of tax) per month.

Activation

Dial 345 from any Telenor number to activate the package. Remember, this is a handset dependent service. Your handset must support any of GRPS or EDGE technologies or both.

Charges

A monthly subscription charge of Rs.1000 (exclusive of tax) will apply. Remember this service is available to postpaid customers only. Internet usage above 2 GB will be charged at Rs.5 per MB (exclusive of tax).

It’s not possible to send messages from a prepaid SIM if you don’t have balance in your account. If it’s happening, it might be a network issue.
